These quartz crystal oscillators are typically used in data transmission systems with highest transmission rates.
Examples are:
The Jauch JOH, JOE and JOD series:
JOD75 / JOE75: Excellent phase jitter values by using 3rd harmonic or inverted MESA blanks.
The JOD75 / JOE75 oscillators cover a wide frequency range and are available in two versions. Both versions are characterized by lowest phase noise, because the frequency generation is realized without PLLs.
For frequencies below 200.0MHz we recommend the JOD75 / JOE75 version, which is based on a quartz plate (= blank) oscillating in the 3rd harmonic mode.
For higher frequencies up to 320MHz we recommend the MESA version of the JOD75 / JOE75. Inside these oscillators a quartz blank is used which is manufactured in the so-called inverted MESA technology. By using this inverted MESA manufacturing technology, the phase noise can be kept at a low level even at higher frequencies. The oscillators manufactured in this technology cover the frequency range up to 320 MHz, which cannot be manufactured by using the 3rd overtone mode.
